Day 3, part 1

4th of Feburary, part 1
So once again I woke up quite early, but it wasn't as bad as the night before; I awoke at 3 AM, and was kinda confused, but I got back to sleep again and slept all the way until 5 AM, I got up blew my nose and waltzed back to bed, then between 6 and 7.30 I had a weird period where I was half awake and half asleep and confused my dreams with reality a lot and I got really confused when my alarm clock rang at 7.30 and I had to get up. And also I had slept way too much.. 10 hours… Hopefully I will get my inner clock worked out tonight!

I took a shower and tried out my beauty products, and got the salt scrub everywhere on the floor, it was kinda weird I have never had anything similar to this before but I can tell you my skin is still really soft. I got out of the shower grabbed a towel and so on, I put on some new clothes, except I took the same pants and shirt as I had on yesterday, teal pants and a yellow shirt, I still need to find some kind of hat, the sun get's in my eyes all the time.

I turned on my computer, sat in my bed, and waited for all my adoring fans to begin writing me, and while I patiently waited I checked my facebook and had ELEVEN notifications! That made me happy, a lot. So I read the notifications and wrote back on some of them, then I checked back at messenger, and saw something horrible, ALMOST NO ONE WAS ONLINE!?

I checked the time and it was around 5 PM in denmark, and I wondered, aren't anyone online at 5 PM? I had said to Pete my Tell Tale Contact that I'd be ready for work today, so when he got online I wrote him, he had already written the office a mail asking whether or not they were ready for me, at the same time I was writing with my dad who wanted to know why I was loitering at home istead of being at work, so I explained how it was and some time after my dad had logged off pete wrote again saying they weren't ready for me yet.

So I started installing Penny Arcade: Precipe of darkness for some reason, I haven't played it at all today… And while my computer was installing I noticed the cleaning lady was cleaning the rooms, so I thought this would be a good time to check out the nearby shopping area, I figured out how to turn on the tv, and saw some press conference from the white house while I waited for her to get closer so I could time my trip so she would be finished with my room when I got back.

The press conference was about the government wanting to help small companies and innovators both financially and by making it easier for them to get advice, then some jackass journalist just had to be a smartass and ask about the situation in Cairo, it started out well with the officials from the white house talking about the journalists who had been assaulted down there, but that wasn't what the journalists wanted to hear about, so they asked once again, and specified the question was not like this, but it was clearly, after being refrased by 10 different journalists what they all meant; "Why does the american government not intervene and force the egyptian president Mubarak off his post?", to which he replied several times; "It is not in our place to intervene, if we want this situation to resolve in a constructive manner we should let the egyptians work it out, or else we will cause more instability".

I finally got tired of hearing the journalists insisting that the government should do something about Mubarak and got my jacket on and went to the shopping area, on the way I saw several groups of latin american men standing around just like they do in south park, and I didn't know what to think, but I got there without anyone asking me if I had jobs for them, I took a look at the shops and only one of them caught my interest, it was a apparel shop with the slogan "dress cheap" or something like that, which for some reason also had a lot of other stuff like, minor furniture, toys and perfumes and stuff.

I took a look, I found a pair of blue pants for $20, but I do not really need pants right now, and I decided to look at shoes instead I found a pair of gym soes or whatever they are called for $25 so I decided to buy them because my feet were sore and the only other shoes I brought with me have a bit of heel being dress shoes and all. I also found a pair of calvin klein pajama pants for $18, no deodorants though, they only had perfumes as far as I could tell.

So I went back outside and looked around a bit more, but there really was nothing else of interest, besides an art shop.. I didn't need art stuff, so I went back. I passed the latin american men again I got past without anyone asking me for a job.. Man I really feel racist! This is great stuff, racism is funny when you aren't really racist, or well, if I learned anything from avenue Q it is that Everyone's a bit racist!
Anyway I got home and I could tell they were still not QUITE done yet, so I went up there put my backpack down and then went down to the pool and sat there waiting, enjoying the sun.

When I turned around and saw my door was closed I went up again and began writing a bit on my thesis, but I was really slow about it and spend more time on facebook than I did on my thesis, around 3 PM I got out of my room and walked to the ferry, this time I did not get lost, I got up on the track, I passed a group of latin americans who had just got off work, moments afterwards they all yelled something I turned around and saw a man with long hair and a skirt who was smiling widely while bicycling by me, in viborg there is a guy called "kjole ole" (dress ole), I guess this must be his californian cousin.

I got through the tunnel and on the other side a woman bicycled towards me and looked very surprised for some reason and said "hi" while she passed me, very weird.. I got down to the ferry JUST on time, they delayed the departure one minute because of me and two other blokes, I took a couple of pictures of Larkspur, as the port is called, while we left. Then I went inside and got myself an afternoon snack consisting of a glass of coke and a small pack of chips (crisps, if you are brittish).

I got to San Francisco and began my search for a hostel I had previously marked my map with every hostel near the main road up to the ferry building, called Market street, and I just went from one to the other until I finally found one that I didn't think was either too crummy or was an actual hotel, so I checked in and got a bed in a 6 person mixed dorm, up there was an english kid I talked a bit with him while I tried to write on my thesis and while I waited until 6 PM so I could get something to eat, I've heard that eating at the right times helps you deal with jetlag.

At 6 PM I went out and tried to find a place to get something to eat first I saw a pizza place, but decided I didn't want to have pizza, even though it was called "PIRAAT pizza", so I passed a Subway, some art institute kids being artsy outside their building smoking "roll-em-yourself" cigarettes and talking about stuff like whether crayon or charcoal is the better tool for making a expressionistic sculpture. I then passed a girl sitting on a flight of stairs and she said "Hey, I like your pants" I got really confused walked backwards, really awkwardly, turned around, really awkwardly, took a step, really awkwardly, She then said "I really like the color, it's cool" (notice she is american so she says colour without the u), I awkwardly replied "Oh thank you", and awkwardly smiled while I awkwardly walked on.

I walked about two blocks but saw no restaurant of interest, only more pizza signs, so I went back and thought, "I'm just awkwardly gonna ask that girl who liked my pants if she knows any good places to eat nearby", when I got to the flight of stairs I awkwardly stared up the stairs, but she was not there, because it turned out that she also was one of the artsy people now discussing whether the complete works of mozart could be transferred into an abstract painting, so I hurried on before I began talking about surrealistic aggriculture, I ended up in subway.. Yeah..

So I got a footlong sandwich with buffalo chicken, I bought a meal which was with a soda and a bag of chips, or crisps if you will, $8.30, and ate it at subway no one else did they bought it to go, I couldn't eat all of it so I brought the rest back at the hostel.

So then I went down stairs with my computer and started writing in my diary and listening in on peoples conversations, I've noticed that whenever a girl sits down a guy will approach her immediately, wich is funny because I know I would have done the same had I not had more important work to do; record history in the making!

While I wrote this diary entry I got kinda tired so I looked around for some coffee, but they only had tea, so I got that instead, by now there is a lot of people here talking, girls playing with their hair and laughing at stupid jokes, and men trying to be cool and interesting and funny and clever, There is a bar crawl tonight by the way! I am still quite tired but I think I should definitely join in! Hopefully, as I mentioned earlier it will help me get rid of my jetlag.

Still one hour to go, but I'll try to be social now instead of staring into this screen, however important my endeavors may be, writing them down is not as important as them actually taking place, so good night, and I'll tell you all how the bar crawl went tomorrow morning.
